Hello all! Just looking for your thoughts...
no matter where I go online I see that Olive Eggers can not be sexed until 4-6 weeks. In trying to sex mine that are a couple days old and born only a few hours apart there are definitely clear differences. 4 distinct differences that if I follow sexing rules on the breeds that created these (black copper Marans & cream legbars) they seem to fall in place. What I see is very developed wing feathers and tail feathers on 1 that is not their on the other as well as their coloring. One (the one with tail and developed wing) is much more bright and the other quite fuzzy and muted. One has a white dot on top of its head. I do believe that I have one cockerel and one pullet here. Anyone else’s thoughts? I’m attaching 3 photos. One of what I believe is pullet, then cockerel and then both with next to each other to see color difference.

Mine are chipmunk color and I can tell which ones are male already. And they’re only 2 weeks and 3 days. Each day one keeps popping up though. Like I could tell one for sure was a male at around a week and a half and now as each day passes one more starts to get a red comb, so now at 2+ weeks I have 3 males for sure and most likely some will start having more of a red comb in the future.

Color of chicks won’t play a role unless they’re sex links.
