Yeah, right now it’s still on the early side, but I was wanting to get this thread started anyways. Percy is an Olive Egger that I hatched out from the only remaining shipped egg I bought from Meyer’s ( I had incubator issues & there were originally 8 eggs ). They hatched Feb. 17th, so little Percy is 3 weeks old.

I’m attaching pictures taken today. Meyer’s has different breeding programs for their Oliver Eggers, so I’m not exactly sure but I think they’re a cream legbar x welsummer cross as the egg they hatched from was a brown speckled egg.

It looks more like a cockerel, but yeah, it's still too young to be certain. Come back in 3 weeks for a more definitive answer! :D

Yeah, but I know my leghorn pullets had big, yellow combs like that when they were about the same age. I just don’t know if that’s the same with an Olive Egger since they’re already a mutt.

True, leghorns do tend to have large combs on average. I don't know if that affects chick comb size, though.
Judging by the single comb instead of pea comb on your chick, this bird might have legbar ancestry instead of easter egger or ameraucana, perhaps. And legbars can have big combs too, but again, I don't know if that would affect anything.
I dunno. It's still too early to tell.

Yeah, that’s why I mentioned I think Percy is a cream legbar x welsummer mix.
