You need to mix a brown egg laying breed with a blue/green laying breed. For me i am using my Golden Cuckoo Marans roo and several of the blue egg laying girls. And i'm also using my White Ameracana roo with my brown egg laying hens (such as my Cuckoo Maran)

ooooohhhhh the wheels are turning~ My ameraucana's and a RIR hummmm GREEN EGGS, OLIVE GREEN EGGS~

Dear lord, i am gonna ahave so many chickens

I have two cuckoo Maran x EE hens and one Roo growing up now. I can't wait to see what color eggs they lay.

Wish I had miracle grow fairy sprinkle dust, lol.

I keep thinking someone needs to put a Splash Ameraucana over a Cuckoo Marans. You should have sexed link chicks, where the hens would be blue, and should lay a green-olive egg, right?

Or is the dark "varnish" of a Marans egg only passed down by the rooster...

Somebody who can have roosters, give it a try, then give me a call!
