Omega eggs- how much flax do you feed ?

I am interested too!
I have done some reading on the subject but have not broke down and bought an expensive bag of flax. I thought I read somewhere around 15% but not sure with out doing a google search again. I do recall reading that fish is better for omega than flax. (Flax has both omega 3 and 6) I have heard that too much flax in their diet can cause an off taste to the eggs..
Hopefully we here from some folks with experience on the subject.

Fishmeal will give you more Omega 3 than Flax.

My feed has fishmeal, and I was a little worried at first in case the eggs tasted of fish, but no they don't.

I suppose it's getting the balance of fishmeal right.

Can't give you a brand name it just made up by our local feed mill and whilst the tage tells you the ingredients it doesn't give you the amounts of each ingredient.

Hope that has been some help.

Eek!
"Overfeeding flaxseed can cause problems for your hens because flaxseed contains sticky compounds that stop the hen from digesting some of the nutrients in her diet. Flaxseed also contains a compound called linoline that may increase the birds' vitamin requirements. Feeding too much flaxseed can cause production drops, small egg size, reduced body weight gain and thin egg shells. Including 10% flaxseed will increase the omega-3 fatty acids in your eggs and not cause problems for your birds."
That almost makes it sound a bit scary to use...
