My favorite time of year is fall. I have a brush pile the size of a small house to burn this year. It’s going to be awesome
They make us get a permit to burn. Heck with them. I got a wood chipper instead. What is too big to chip, I bury in the sand to add much needed organic matter.

Fire is captivating.
It really is... but at the same time, it terrifies me. I get incredibly anxious whenever we burn the brush pile in our backyard -- fire is fast and powerful and wild to me, so I'm scared of it.
Apparently, when I was little, I cried at the candles on my cake -- I think that there was just one, but it still had me in a tizzy.
Meanwhile, I was totally fine with the woodstove.... 🙄 Nowadays, the woodstove makes me nervous, but birthday candles are as upsetting as a healthy baby chick.

Be very afraid. I have always loved playing with fire, even when I have been surrounded by it.

I am very afraid. I'd much rather have a fire pit that we could toss brush into over the course of the year, rather than do one big burn every few years.
Very, very afraid....

Not funny at all. I got to see too many of my neighbor's houses burn down. It is a great tragedy and irreplaceable loss of treasured mementos.

Like the conclusion jump.

Ive been to several structure fires for training. People donate dilapidated buildings for fire training purposes. Several engines get in on it, and make a weekend of setting and putting out fires. Then, light it one last time so it consumes itself.
