I set eggs i the bator last Sunday. Been doing the turn multiple times a day every day BUT (I still am not sure how I forgot) i didn't turn them last night!

Did I kill all my babies? are they now all stuck to the inside? I turned them as soon as i got up this morning but totally forgot last night (rough evening). I have a total of 28 eggs that were set July 5 so this AM marks day 9. Temps and humidity are holding steady i'm just afraid they are all stuck to the inside now. any ideas?

thanks!

This Texas A&M site gives good info on turning eggs. I think it might help you feel better if you check it out there.

I don't know how many times a day multiple is for you or how long the eggs went without turning so it is hard to say. I'm no expert on incubation anyway. I do believe chicks and eggs are tougher than we normally give them credit for, so I would not throw out the eggs. I'd continue with the hatch.

ridgerunner, thanks for your quick reply! I missed just one turn--the one before bed. I had turned in the afternoon but forgot before bed. At most they were that direction for about 14-15 hours. thanks also for the link, going to go check it out right now.

I just had a complete freak out when i work up this morning and remembered i didn't turn last night! UGH! I can't believe i did that!

Hi,

You are fine. I actually forgot to turn one whole day and all my chicks hatched. I even have a hen that when she sits she does not move from her spot the whole 21 days and her chicks hatch. My other broody hens are all over their cage to roll eggs but she does not. So you are ok. Missing one turn is not fatal. Good luck on your hatch.

Hello! You are fine! No, they're not stuck!

Before I had a turner, I had missed a whole day of turning them and they all hatched just fine!

I sent eggs to the school for the kids to hatch and I know that they didnt get turned from Friday til Monday and they all hatched fine...

Bet your babies will be great!

I don't think you hurt them, these eggs are a lot tougher than we think they are, just like the little chicks when they hatch. You will be surprised as you continue to hatch more.
