My dad just got back home from an appointment and we just started cracking open quail eggs for breakfast. Then my dad cracked one of the big quail eggs and it was a double yolker! Then I grabbed another big egg and cracked it. It too was a double yolker!

Has anyone else ever gotten double yolked quail eggs?

Cody!!

Yes, I've found that the first week of when my hens start laying 90% of the time they are double yolkers, I don't know where but I read that when they first start laying they are most likely double yolked eggs.

One of mine just started laying large eggs and I discovered they are all double yolkers

I have a couple of hens that seem to regularly lay rather large eggs (double the size of others... 20g vs 10-13g)

Now, they are only 7 weeks old, so are new layers, but it seems to be rather consistent. I pitty the hens that gotta squeeze them out...

I had several double yolkers from a cage that held 4 hens and a roo. I couldn't figure out which hen was laying them, but after I found one of them scalped and dead, I haven't seen any more doubles.

I've never seen that before! Are they fertilized? If so, you could start a big twin hatching project! (One of my dreams). I would certainly be following!
