Hey everyone!
My goose eggs started hatching, I went to switch them around and noticed it was popping and hatching facing down. I freaked out because I wasn't expecting them. And grabbed the egg to maybe assist in the hatch because I assumed it was also possibly dead. But it moved!
I put it back in the incubator. To finish hatching. I feel really stupid, did I just ruin this babies chance 😭😭😭

Baby will be just fine. :)
Where ever you read, everything will always say DO NOT OPEN THE BATOR OR ELSE. Let me tell you that that is over exaggerated, and opening in the incubator, or removing the egg will not ruin its chance at hatching. Most experianced hatchers will say that lockdown is when they are the most hands on. Candling, removing chicks, keeping humidity up, assisting hatches, etc. Opening the bator for a few seconds isn't going to hurt them. If the humidity dropped while one of the eggs was pipping for an extended period of time, then you would have a problem.
Don't worry about it, you did the right thing and baby will have an easier hatch for it. Congrats on your hatch so far!

On Saturday a hen jumped up on top of an old styrofoam hovabator I use for lock down. When I went to shoo her away she knocked it off the table and the whole thing turned upside down as it fell to the floor. There were only two eggs inside. Somehow, they weren't broken but I figured the two eggs were done for. Darn if one of them didn't hatch today.
