This is my 5 month old (hatched July 4) Columbian Wyandotte. Purchased from a hatchery with a girl chick guarantee. Yeah, I know they can make mistakes, but I had faith. I'm starting to worry about "Connie". Please let me know what you think. I have no other Wyandottes to compare to.

Me too. Short for Conan, Conrad, Connor, or Connell? Oooooh! Constantine!? He's gorgeous any way you look at it. My two wyandottes (SLW & BLRW), both hens, have almost no comb. Connie's is markedly more endowed than theirs. Congratz?

Wow! Thanks everyone for taking the question out of my mind. Nothing like a unanimous decision to clear things up.

It took Connie so long to get her adult feathers and grow a tail, but in the last two weeks she just blossomed. And blossomed. And turned into a boy. I like that he's pretty, but didn't plan on a rooster. Anybody know about birth control for chickens?

(My previous plan was to not let my girls get near a roo, but now I can't part with Connie/Conan/Connor/Conrad/Constantine.)

The chicken adventure continues...
