Of my 23 eggs 9 hatched over 12 hours then a 24 hour break. At 21.5 days 2 more pips and one of those just hatched and one zipping.

I decided to ignore them until 48 hours after the first hatched and then decide what to do. That'll be tonight.

hatching!!

had another one hatch just minutes ago and one right now trying to break through!! So exciting! Told the hubby I wasn't going to church today because I needed to watch my babies! He looked at me with THAT look like I was crazy and I told him that God would understand since I was looking after HIS creatures

The one that hatched yesterday wasn't doing so great

I took it out of the bator and put into a makeshift brooder in the living room. I gave it some Save A Chick and it seems to already be doing better. Still isn't really walking around yet, but it is holding its head up better. Hopefully it will be okay. It was the first one and a bit early. I noticed the pip Thursday evening when I was getting ready to turn them. So it had been pipped since at least then. I think it is just a bit weak right now. *Fingers Crossed* that it will get better.

We have 4 little Rouen ducklings now. So glad they turned out to be Rouens!! We bought them as mallards, but I didn't want them to fly away!

Well we had quite the surprise this morning when we looked into the bator...

4 ducklings and 1 was all yellow!! what?! Where the heck? So I called the lady we bought them from and they have pekins and their graddaughter helps gather eggs! She offered to trade me ducklings if I really wanted a rouen I told her that it didn't really matter since we bought the eggs on a whim...Actually DH had already went to pay and I was getting ready to go when they brought the hatching eggs out...

Luckily DH was still in line and I had to hand him another $12 for 2 dozen eggs...
