Things happen. When your dad gets over being upset he will not be so mad. He doesn't hate you, I'm sure. Sometimes as parents we just completely blow up and we can't communicate.

Your dad is probably proud of you in many ways, he probably just has a hard time showing it.

I hope tomorrow is a better day

It will pass. That's the great thing about Dads. You don't have to do anything to get them to love you. It's something that happened about the time you were born, and no piece of glass, no matter how valuable will undo it. He's probably more proud of you than you know; some dads just don't know how to say it without getting all mushy.

OOOOOOOOOOooooo I know when my Pop is really mad, he starts to stutter!!! I know then it's time to get out of the way.

Trey darlin' it will be ok. I am 45 years old and I have done things that you couldn't even imagine, and my Daddy still loves me.

Just stay out of his way for awhile and let him calm down. It will all work out in the end.

i know he wont be mad forever but he'll never fogive me i know...
my brother lost a peice of fools gold at school and my dad still today is mad about it his old neighbor gave it to him when he was little..
we are in the middle of moving and he is extra stressed...

Like everyone else said, your dad is annoyed right now. Annoyed is a far reach from hate.

Apologise for breaking the thing and make an effort not to do anything else out of line --- ever.

You know we love you and want you to do well.
Good luck,
Lisa

Sorry Trey,

Sending you lots of hugs.
(One thing you gotta keep in mind is the glass was just a thing. We always as parents get upset, and think "how could they be so careless", but if it came right down to it, and we may not say it, we would give up ALL our "things" for family, right down to the last penny or keepsake, especially for sons and daughters). I am sure he loves you, but as a few have said here, lotsa times men just dont know how to express it.

Jill
