Ok, well I just wondered. I think taking eggs in mid hatch would be the same as opening the incubator. You probably wouldn't want to disrupt them like that normally.

If they were my beautiful babies I would round up Momma and babies, keep them all together, and let Momma do the hatching/raising work. She'd be better at it than me and, after 6 weeks, when the babies don't need their Mom, I would release her back to her wild ways and tame the babies - quite an easy chore.
 
yah its a little sad that she did all that work and can't be a mom now, i mean if i sat on eggs for 21 days and someone took them from me id be upset... but to each it's own.... good luck !!!!
 
I dont have any place big enough to keep mom and babies (seperate from my other chickens) and all four of my dogs are quite chicken aggressive so I dont know about letting her free range with them.
