I watched it all unfold live on TV in Seattle. He just stood there with his sword for like 8 hours, making menacing ninja gestures at the police who tried to arrest him. Apparently, ninja swords give you the MENTAL POWER to hold police at bay with the power of your THOUGHTS alone!
