Wondering if anyone else has had this issue with an Omlet door where basically it doesn't seal against the safety mechanism properly, and it can be easily opened from outside of the coop! I've already done a factory reset, recalibration, took the door off tried to clean it out etc and its still doing it. Omlet recommended adjusting screws on the back of the door which quite honestly was useless.

My neighbor also has this door and hers closes and seals against that safety mechanism properly. It can certainly not be opened from the outside. Imagine a raccoon or something nudging that door open, it wouldn't take much, and then it would end up being closed into the coop! Anyway, just curious if anyone has had this happen or have any ideas how to fix. I assume it wouldn't take much convincing for omlet to replace this but would rather not have to go to that length. I'm also tempted to cut the safety wires because I really don't care for that feature anyway but I'd rather not.

Ive have an omelet auto door for almost a year now. I thought it was great until now. Cost $300 and now won’t fully close or fully open. I plan to try to factory reset it today, but I don’t feel secure with the omelet door anymore. It just takes one night to lose them. Has anyone found a solution that works or the reason why the door does this suddenly?

Did you ever solve your problem? We recently reinstalled our door on a new coop and I'm having what I think is the same issue.

I had to stop using the Omlet door. I could never get it to reset. I bought a cheaper door and it works Great.
Thanks!
I did contact the Omlet customer service and they said that when the door encounters an obstacle and then closes, the sensor has a timeout period of 20 mins, during which it will be more sensitive and could be opened from the outside. After that, it will lock and can only be opened with the controller. I tested it with my door and this does appear to be true.

We had a similar issue and the door actually closed on two different chickens previously. We had to change the sensitivity setting and recalibrate. All was fine after that. We've never been able to dislodge the door open from the outside.
We use electrical tape to tape the wires to the top of the interior so no one strangles themselves.
