Omlet autodoor opening

Hi there! Have you ever had any issues with the door getting stuck? Also, are you in a cold area? I’m interested in the functionality of the door in freezing temps. Thank you!
I'm in Southern California so haven't experienced freezing weather. I don't see it getting 'stuck' due to weather though.

Thanks very much. What about customer service?
Customer Service is amazing! I have the Omlette Eglu coop, attached run, walk-in run and all the accessories. I've had to contact them many times and they are so helpful and accommodating. Usually it's a British person either in NY or the UK that answers.

Thank you so much! Really appreciate this feedback.

Since I’m not a DIY’er in this area, I have to buy something pre-fabricated. So, besides having a battery-operated door that functions in cold weather, I need good customer service. I’m presently torn between the Omlet and the Ador.

Every once and again it won’t close because something is in the tracks that I can’t see but not very often. However, it did get iced over and froze one time this winter when we had a bad ice storm. But has worked great in -20 degree weather.
Hello wyochick10! When debris gets in the way, do you have to clean it out each time? My door will be inside my coop, and I won’t have east access to clean it out.

We have the omlet auto door. Our large BOs have no issue getting in and out although they fill the space.

We don't use the door, it remains open 24x7 mostly due to the climate where we live -- for extra air flow and ventilation.
We have used the auto door in the past both by set time of day and by automatic light. We had issues with consistency in open and close when allowing it to function by natural light even when facing East/West orientation, so we then always set the open and close time, which of course has to be changed periodically based on twilight rise and set times.

We also had prior issues with the auto door closing on a chicken (3 different times) because not enough of their body was in the sensor area. If they only had a neck sticking out or their tail feathers in the doorway, the door would close on them and not reopen. We were mortified when it caught their neck and didn't reopen. Chicken was ok because I was there to quickly react and hold the "open door" on the pad. We recalibrated and had the same issue. If we choose to use the door for this winter, depending on the need dictated by temperature, we will use the manual door.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the auto door. I am so sorry one of your chickens neck got caught in the door and so glad you were there to save it!! 😳
I have taken the door off and I’m going to go another direction, starting off by using the manual door. I really appreciate your time and sharing your experience with me!
