I normally use the all metal doors from chickendoors.com - their doors have always worked flawlessly for my coop and the light sensor function is many many light years better than the rather poor light sensor feature of the Omelet doors

Unfortunately though, I needed to use a door that had a horizontal sliding feature like the omelet door and had a digital panel that I could use to program specific open and close times since I was using it on one of my three-way feeding stations.

So I bit the bullet and ordered one of their all plastic horizontally opening doors. I did this about 3 or 4 days ago. So I thought I'd follow the order status link and see when it was shipping and the message below is the one I got:
"Order No:
Xxxxxxxxx
Payment Status:
Paid - Thank you!
Estimated Delivery:
Delivery by Friday, 9 September
Please note that due to the current circumstances it's very difficult to guarantee exact dates and there is the possibility that it will change so please check your order status regularly for the most up to date information."

Are they really serious about it being September 9th? I'm hoping this is some automated message error but I thought I'd check with this group to see if this is how long they normally take to get a product out the door?

I feel like that's how most smaller companies work...
I didn't realize Omelet was a small company I thought omelette was pretty big. But of course I would be remiss if I didn't point it out the chicken doors.com with their all aluminum metal door which actually has a really good photo cell setup that works just perfectly opens up the appropriate time and closes the appropriate time but they're just a few person operation too out of Texas so apparently not related to size. I can usually get product within a few days from them here in California from Texas.

If I were to guess I would bet that Omelet is based somewhere else other than the US. I'm just hoping that I'm not waiting for an item that will be shipping from China on the slow barge to the west. :)

I don't know where omlet stuff is produced.
Product lead times and availability have faltered in the last couple years due to a reduction in manufacturing and transport staffing, and show no promise of improvement any time soon. Always bare shelving areas in most stores these days.
I think we are all spoiled to get what we want 'right now' and aren't used to waiting.

I must admit I I've likely gotten too used to Amazon having everything at my door same day next day or the day after. :). I was doing a little research I think this place is based in the UK. So they may have limited distribution hubs here in the states. I really don't think it's transportation issues per se in this country only because the place I order my doors for my chicken coop there in the middle of the US in Texas and it's a small operation and they ship I think they ship on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays or something like that and they always ship so I usually get it maybe within a week I would guess would be fair. I think maybe omelette has the disadvantage because it's not based here and they're depending on foreign distribution hubs to get their product to the customer. It's okay. I can make do while I'm waiting for the door I don't need it for the coops cuz I use the metal doors that I get from Texas for my coop. I just like to use these for the feeder station and I have two already but I need one more only because they're pretty easy to program if you want to set up manual timings. If I just wanted good automatic light sensing door I would stick with the chicken doors but that's not what I'm looking for here cuz I want to close the doors to the feeding station before it gets much past sunset and then open them just a few minutes for for my automatic coupe door opens in response to the ambient light cycle.

Again though you are right Amazon is certainly spoiled me and dealing with online vendors in general. Usually if I hear something's going to take two weeks it's like I'll go see if I can find it on Amazon. :)

Unfortunately everything I need is not necessarily there although most of the stuff is that I tend to be looking for.

Yes it's a UK based company. Ours was order 2 months ago approximately and arrived within a week.

I have found it to be infallible so hopefully worth the wait!

I'm trying to find an auto door big enough for ducks in the UK, I'm not having much luck but if they could fit through an Omlet door I would by another in a heartbeat.

You should check chickendoors.com. I've used them for as long as I have had chickens and I found them nothing but dependable and well constructed much more so than the all plastic doors. It's located somewhere in Texas I forget where chips from but I found their small operation very responsive with customer service queries and stuff. They have large doors a small door and even a double door for turkeys. The best part about the doors is the photocell that comes on a long cable and can be placed in a ideal position from the door, they have it down to a science it works and opens just the right time and closes just the right time. My frustration with the light feature of the omelette door is that you have to tweak a bunch of settings on the amount of sunlight it would respond to so much so that it was virtually impossible to work with reliably. Programming digitally just by open time and close time that works fine. But seriously check it out they go by pullet-shut doors and I had nothing but great experience with their doors you might check them out. Not sure how to insert a URL here but I gave you the spelling of the URL to their website.
