My sister bought a Copper Marans chick and bought me a little Faverolle chick to add to the chicks I have as one turned out to be a cockerel. Well her Marans got sick so we took it back to the lady and traded for a new one. Being new to chickens and stupid I put the Faverolle in with my Buff Brahma and Welsummer chicks so it wouldn't be lonely. After a f3 days it started walking funny and the next morning was near death and by nightfall the chick died. From everything we've read it appears to be omphalitis and the first Copper Marans had the same problems. The Faverolles and Marans were hatched together by a local " hatchery" and now it's looking like the other Copper Marans has this. What can we do for it and what's the risk that my other chicks have been exposed to something?
