My baby, Kendra (aka "Chicken Hawk") laid an egg! I'm so proud of her! This is the chicken that I rescued... her poor little chest was picked clean and she was underweight and sad. She was starting to get better when my BRs attacked her, plucked all her butt feathers and tore her vent. Anyway, the BRs went to my dad's house, where they are living the spoiled life, and I nursed my little Chicken Hawk back to health. So, even though I lost Chloe today, my baby laid an egg!
She and her little friends got scrambled eggs w/ vegetable oil to celebrate!

Thanks, everyone. HUGS!
No wonder I love this forum. You all love your animals like I do. I'm just devastated when I loose one and I'm so happy when the milestones happen... Everyone at work thinks I'm nuts!

Anyway, Thank you, Miriam! She is a buff cochin, standard size. That pic was taken a month or two ago so she looks a little small there... she is HUGE now. Her little booty feathers are still growing but her vent is at least covered up now so she doesn't look like "half" a chicken like she did before. I just love her to death. Her chest looks a lot better now. In that pic, you can still see the growth but now she is FULL and SOFT and I just want to sqeeze her when I see her fat body running up to me.
