my chicks seem live and well.
Of course, aside from BBQ );
But I do have a few questions.
Why do my polish and (insert breed*) chicks jump to the top of the coop when I open the top door? Like, kinda on the side. They could run away, but they just casually jump right back in the coop. Good to know they like being there.
*What breed of chick looks similar to a chipmunk as a baby chick?
And also, how long do chick adventures usually take? I'm hoping maybe I'll find BBQ wandering around tomorrow morning in the coop...

My kids have all liked to perch on the brooder and look around with interest, then hop back inside after a while. Of course, my brooder is in the bathroom, so there's no "getting away" for them. Now and then I'll find one peering at her reflection in the bathroom sink faucet, or standing on the back of the toilet tank, or on the seat.

I've never covered the brooder. I don't mind cleaning up the occasional poop from these early excursions out of the brooder. It's just the bathroom.

my EE's, SLW, Male Red Star all look like chipmunks.....
