I have an LG w/air, the temps have been steady no major changes throughout (dropped to 96.4 once but only for less than 1 hour). I started with a higher humidity, 55-65% for the first 2 days, then read about the dry method and kept it between 30-45% up until day 18. Then I upped it to 60% (it's ranged from 58 once to 65%) I could see small movement in all 7 eggs when I candled right before lockdown. I thought everything was great, but now that day 21 (fri.) has come and gone I'm getting really worried. I don't have and pips, peeps, movement, you name it...NOTHING. My questions for all my fellow BYC members are...
1. How long should I keep them in there and wait?
2. Should I try to open 1 egg on Sun (day23) and see if there are problems?
3. Should I up the humidity more, or is it too late at this point?
This is my first hatch and I was so excited for this day but now I'm really sad that I messed this all up somehow

Please help me, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I'm just besides myself right now on what I should do. I'm such a wreck that I can't even sleep right now either.
Thanks for everyones support, Rachel

I would keep the humidity at, at least, 65%.

Wait till tomorrow, open the eggs from the top. They might still be alive. I helped hatch two like that on day 22/23.. they had pipped into the air sac but hadn't gone any further.

Wait at least another day, if not two...have you candled since you went into lockdown? Is there still any movement?

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I woke up this morning and still nothing, I'm going to try to up the humidity a bit more, I'm at 61% right now. By tomorrow afternoon I think I'll candle and then go from there. If no movement - try to open, if there is movement - based I what I can see open or put it back. It's encouraging to know that they may still be alive, but I'm losing hope with every hour that passes.

Wow, I haven't been this stressed in a long time...actually I can't even remember the last time I was this stressed.

Anyone else gone through this and have suggestions?

Im on day 22. I finally have 1 wiggling. NO pips. Yet. I'll give it till tonight. if nothing more. Ill open up and candle in the hot humid bathroom. That way there will be no loss of heat or humidity for eggs when bator is opend. I'm trying to be paitiant. Think I just heard a peep. but still no pips? Whats up????????

Feathered, do you have a mister? If so, and you open up the incubator, then give a couple quick squirts over (not on) the eggs and this will up the humidity.

Someone suggested this to me and it does work.

It's so good to hear someone else is on day 22...good job on the seeing movement and hearing peeps. I think my eyes have gone crossed looking at the eggs. I like the idea about going into the steamy bathroom, good idea

Good luck to you and your babies.

Ok, I had my first chick hatch on day 22. Left the other eggs alone. Was about to give up and had 2 more hatch on day 23. Now at day 24 and feeling more concerned. So you're not alone!
