? on feeding

I have 8 week old dual purpose chicks and they have a constant food supply. Is this okay or should they only be fed at certain times?

We have always given ours free choice feed from day one. Most folks do the same with all except meat birds (cornish X)

I have dual purpose birds and I make sure they have feed available 24/7.
