On Lockdown With Second Egg

    Mama hen (Buttercup) hatched one egg last Saturday, and now the second one is about due to hatch. Here's hoping! [​IMG]

    I candled the egg last night (just before lockdown) and I see a big mass, but no movement. Eeep. Then again, the chick would be rather large at this point.

    If would love for this one to hatch too, but I have a bad feeling that Buttercup didn't get it enough nesting time. We'll see.

    The last egg piped at 19 days and hatched at 20, so I hope this one does the same. That means it will hopefully pip tomorrow!!
