They look pretty i ordered 13 males from mcmurray they will be shipping the week of February 28th I also ordered 6 dark Cornish males and 6 Sumatra males I plan on crossing with American game, of course I will be Breeding some pure moderns also considering how rare they are, also do yours go broody cause mcmurray says there not likely to set But everywhere else I read says they do go broody and are usually good mothers. We have a mixed flock to support bloodlines, but yes some came from McMurray
Thats what I was thinking also I asked m Murray if they have crossed there modern games with red jungle fowl or possibly brown leghorn to make more productive layers and to take the game out of them so they can keep big breeding flocks without the males fighting but they have not got back to me but I will be receiving 13 and picking the best ones to improve and to cross with American gamefowl either way they look nice and I like that jungle fowl primitive chicken look. The original Red Junglefowl have white earlobes. Everything about that rooster looks like RJF. The hens are hard to see in the photo. The color seems correct for RJF but they may be a little too "leggy"
Hey I had one more question are the roosters game do you think I will need to seperate mine?I have a flock of Modern BB Red Game - standard if you are still looking for some hatching eggs - they are just beginning to lay for the year and I need to get some in the hatcher to check fertility / hatch rate this year (last year was 98%) we are NPIP and AI View attachment 2995067
Im intrested aswell! Please, anyone dm me if you do.Hello, been wanting to help preserve this breed, if you, or know anyone who breeds these majestic fowl, please let me know.
I'm located in Michigan, I'll give shipping address in a PM.
I won't be ready for hatching until the spring/summer. Thanks in advance.
If the words game or jungle are in the breed name, it's a great signal to seperate malesHey I had one more question are the roosters game do you think I will need to seperate mine?
