Once docile roo attacked his hen… what should I do?

I finally hatched three white buttons! I thought they were one roo and two hens since the roo was mating the other two birds, sexy dance and all.

I woke up to find the hens each with a bloody ear, and assumed it was ear pecking by the roo, so I moved him. “Pinky” the hen began laying eggs, and the other “hen” didn’t. Neither did he show any interest in mating. They just hung out together and snuggled. I got rid of the “aggressor,” but the bleeding ear still happened with the rooster I initially thought was a hen. Turns out he was getting spooked whenever my husband shut the door. I gave that other roo away for no reason, and he was the only one producing fertile eggs.

And it gets worse! I noted the remain roo, Shuffles, stalking Pinky. I have plants in there for hiding spots, but he was inching closer to her and doing some kind of military crawl. She ran from him to exhaustion, he caught her, and let out a wail I’ve never heard from a button, so I separated them and moved him to a different enclosure. They both seemed depressed, so I thought it may have been a one-time deal. I reunited them and watched all day. They were cuddling, eating together, sitting side by side.

I woke up to Pink have a huge neck wound. I’m not even sure if there was any skin left in areas. The back of her head was plucked, blood was still sleeping from there and between her (shoulders?). I’ve never seen such a wound with my babies. I’m legally deaf without hearing devices, so to think she screamed all night and I didn’t hear her… 😢

Of course I removed him for good. I haven’t seen pinky eat or drink or poop or even leave her teepee since it happened a few days ago. I started using a small syringe to give her water. And contacted my vet for an emergency “superfood” formula to give her as well. I’ve dabbed the area with gentle saline and put neosporin without pain relief. Is this all I can do? Can they have amoxicillin?

It’s a bad pic. You canny see the would down the neck, because he only plucked the back of the neck. Her last two eggs (laid 4 and 5 days ago) show no development, so I don’t think this was breeding wounds.

I have heard of buttons getting to that level of violence, but I haven't seen it personally. It sounds like Shuffles definitely needs to find a new home and Pinky needs a new companion.
