Hello All-
This is my first post on BYC, but certainly NOT my first visit. I have been reading these boards for months as I prepared to indulge my desire to raise chickens.

I do not live in the country. My city has just passed an ordinance allowing people in the city to raise as many hens as they want and 1 roo (although disruptive pet ordinances do apply).

I have started a new chicken blog if anyone is interested. It's at
http://southernbackyardchickens.blogspot.com/

I would love to show you a couple of pictures of my chicks, but I cannot figure out how to post pics??

Thanks,

I love your blog! You did such a nice job with it. Your family seems to love the chicks as much as you do.

ok I am a worry wart (just check my posts here) lol

Your light doesnt look to have a ceramic base but plastic, plastic bases have been known to melt and can result in horrible fires. I hope that I am wrong and not the bearer of bad news BUT I would want someone to tell me if they saw something that worried them!
