Once you see crack how long??

Could someone please tell me about how long it takes once the chick starts pecking holes in the shell before they actually get out? We are on day 21 how long should I wait to see how many in the clutch are going to hatch?

Even with the pip..hole it can take 24 hours or longer..they get real tired
I have 4 that hatched since this morning..and one more that pipped this am but hasn't hatched yet

I just hatched 8 yesterday and the first one that pipped was the last one to hatch. Good luck to you.

we just hatched out 12. quickest was about 4 hours, many were about 12 hours.

My last batch ran 18 hours - - - Don't open the lid or they may never make it out of the shell.

I only survived last time by leaving the house and going shopping

next on list go shopping so i leave them alone. Seriously though how long should i wait to take those out that hatched without killing the unhatched eggs?

They can stay in the bator for up to 3 days without food and water. They are living off of their yolk sacs right now. If they are all dried and you see no active pips in the remaining eggs, them you can very quickly take them out.

On the second hatch, I left them in there at least 24 hours after they hatched. They came out much stronger than the previous hatch when I took them out as soon as possible. On top of that, I put them on a towel instead of mulch for the first 2 - 3 days and had ZERO PASTY BUTT issues. I just took the towel outside and shook off the poops a couple of times a day. . . . By day 3, the towel needed to be washed and the chicks new what and where their food was . . . .

LEAVE the chicks in the incubator for at least 24 hours. . . . They will be much stronger if you do !
