One baby chick not keeping up with the rest

Hi ChickyGirl,

It sounds like your little girl is healthy but just not growing. I hope she continues to thrive ... great idea keeping her with the younger ones her own size!

Our little Runty Roo passed away just a few hours ago. I guess Mother Nature was bound to take its course despite our efforts to save it.

The rest of our brood (24 babies) are doing great. They are now 2 weeks old as of today.

Thanks for your post!

Thanks ... I'm waiting for my daughter to get dressed so we can go bury him in the yard ... Poor little thing is probably better off. It is hard to lose any of them.

PS. You have horses too? We have a horse, a dutch warmblood gelding.

Best of luck with all of your animals!

My daughter loves the warmbloods- just can't afford them...lol....

The little red gal is now in with her original hatchmates as all the others have grown up as well and are full size. I'll try to get a pix of the difference. I guess just as some people are dwarfs- some chickens are as well.
