Hello all!
I am doing my first hatch of 2020. I decided to do a relatively small hatch to start, and four made it to lockdown! This morning marked 21 days for them all.

The issue is that I had one chick pip early yesterday morning and hatch last night. The others? Nothing. No movement, no cheeping, no pips!

What should I do?? I was thinking about taking them out and candling them and possibly making a small hole in the air cell, just in case they are still alive in there! Normally I wouldn't be worried, but since that one hatched so early.....

They are Silkie bantams if that helps!

Thanks!

They might just be waiting or a bit behind from cold spots in the bator, etc. You can candle them if you want to. Look for internal pips. I don't think an air hole is necessary until at least tomorrow afternoon. The lack of oxygen in there when they start to run out actually will make them pip in an effort to get air. I think you just had an early bird, but you could definitely candle and see.

I went out and candled them just now... all the air cells looked a little funny. Definitely very large, but oddly shaped. There was no internal pips. I tapped on the shells and listened to them and I didn't hear anything.... :hmm

I wait 5 days, because of this girl - named poky, 5 days late
