We got 3 Rhode Island Red chicks from the hardware store, but after week 1, one was developing slightly different colors that the other two. Is this potentially a gender difference, or do I have two breeds of chicks?! Is it possible to distinguish the breed(s) at this age? Chicks are 11-13 days old. Thanks for your help!

Hatchery RIR's don't necessarily conform to the dark red color and juvenile feathers are not the same in them as their adult feathers anyway.

Whether they are or are not RIR I cannot say for certain. They are cute though.
