Hello,

I have a chicken that keeps getting her feathers plucked out by another chicken, this chicken is the only one that does this. the chicken will pluck feathers off her back sometimes till there is blood, whenever new feathers start to grow back she tries to pluck those too. I'm a little new to chickens and don't know what to do about this.

Some of the things I am considering are:
  1. Eat the bully chicken
  2. separate it
  3. put smelly stuff on it

Any suggestions? Thank you.

I'd separate the bully chicken for two weeks or so. Then, introduce her back into the flock. She will be at the bottom of the pecking order, and won't be doing much bullying for a while.

In the meantime, I would put something on the picked on one's back. BlueKote spray is often used for birds that are being picked on. It covers the red, inflamed areas with blue, which make other chickens less likely to peck at her.
