Hey all,

Have a 6 month pullet in my flock that just started laying. Her first egg was tiny and blue. The second even smaller and white. I thought this was not possible but here is a photo of them. She laid them about 1 week apart. The large brown one is from one of our other ladies for comparison.

Any thoughts/knowledge from all you eggsperts out there ??

Thank you

Diane

Do you only have one pullet? If so, do you have any white egg layers? If no other pullets, but white egg layer hens, I’d guess it is a fairy egg from her rather than from your blue egg pullet. It takes my blue & green layers much longer than a week to fade their shell colors and they don’t fade to white completely. If BBC all your chickens lay brown except for this one pullet, then it would have to be hers. Interesting.

Yes, only 1 pullet and forgot to mention she is a cream legbar. We do have a Delaware (Millie) but she is just over a year old and this has never happened before. Also never heard of a fairy egg, very cool. Hope it means good luck. Thanks so much for you reply.
