The little red pullet died this morning, it never really acted right

. It mostly slept and took it a while to catch on to eating and drinking even though it was a little older(had wing feathers) than the white chick.
The white one, aside from being very lonely right now, is doing okay. S/he's eating and drinking, but running around like a fool looking for a companion. And doesn't it just figure TSC is closed because it's easter.

Well my advice is to pick up the chick for a while... "bond" with her... make her feel loved... I am so sorry one of your chicks died...

So sorry that you lost one of your little ones. We had that happen this spring, also. We lost 1 of 3 then went and got 3 more to replace the 1. You might put a stuffed animal in the brooder with your little one until you can get another chick or 2 or 3.

We put a cushy teddy bear in our brooder and the babies take turns sleeping on top of it, under its arms, etc.

I've quickly learned chicken math. started with 2, one died, now have 3...
A woman about 1.5 hours from me had about 30 ten day old pullets. After getting lost a few times the little unknown chick has 2 slightly larger girlfriends who seem healthy. One's a blue cochin and the other is an EE. Now the little white chick needs to learn they're it's friends and bond with them.
