One egg per day?

Not with hens, I've had chickens for 3 years and it's happened 2 or 3 times that I can remember.
Yeah, I've had it happen a couple times. One was a new Lakenvelder that must have been interrupted the day I got her.
Sometimes I do get an extra quail egg, but it's just a fluke, isn't it?

Right... Don't plan on it always happening, it's rare.

Rare and 'not unusual' are very different.

It is possible for a quail to lay an egg twice in a 24 or 26 hour. But it is not going to happen often. I have never ever had a quail lay three eggs in a day often much less once.

I think your post read/seemed like you meant that a quail can lay three eggs regularly/daily and that's just not true.

I shouldn't have even said anything ngl 😑🤣🤦‍♀️

Everything I said made zero sense 😵‍💫

My quail are not old enough yet- but I have a friend with a pair of hens that will lay 2-4 eggs a day!
I think your friend is telling you stories. Quail do not consistently 2 eggs a day and 3 if even possible would be extremely rare. Chances are your friend isn't collecting the eggs daily.

How did I miss all this? :gig

I haven't had it happen again, since I first posted about it.
