One Egg???

We got our first egg on Wednesday, Aug. 19...I Should say our first and ONLY egg. Is this natural? We have 2 White leghorns and 2 RIR. It was one of the leghorns that layed an egg on Wed. They are all about 19 weeks old. Is it common for them to take some time after the 1st egg?

yes it took about 3 - 5 days before i started to get any more eggs after the first one . Other then that GRATS on the first egg

I guess another question I have is:
Does it take a while for them to lay an egg? My girls do free range most of the afternoon, but I keep a pretty good eye on them. They're really never out of my sight for any length of time. I mean can they just drop an egg somewhere or does it take some time for them to coax it out?
