I dont know if I'm just an overly concerned chicken mom or if there is something wrong. But better safe than sorry! She keeps randomly closing one eye but doesn't show any signs of distress. She only does it while shes sitting or roosting so I think she may just be tired. Her eye looks completely normal, isnt crusty or watery, and she doesnt rub it or anything.

So, in short, her eye looks normal, she acts normal, and she only does it when shes been sitting for a bit or roosting. Is she just awkwardly sleepy?

How is she doing?

Not sure what's going on there - if she's just closing the eye while roosting, then she's resting?

If you have photos you wish to share, we'll be happy to take a look:)

She is doing alright, thanks. Here are some pictures of the eye in question. I managed to get one of her eye kinda half closed. I dont believe anything is wrong but I just want to be sure. She was also between trying to eat a gnat and napping the entire time I was trying to take the photos so I apologize if they're blurry.

My ducks do this too. They usually do this when they're tired, and it's usually only one eye because they use the other to make sure there are no predators, so it's kinda like they're half sleeping
