I had one turkey hatch yesterday and i noticed today that one of its eyes is wayy smaller then the other. Its doing fine but do you guys and girls think i should cull it or no?

I had a duckling hatch like that. He turned out to be the sweetest fellow. I sold him at Christmas - and just heard back from the lady who bought him a few days ago. She loves him so much and he still loves cuddles ! Apart form the eye he was physically normal.

No reason to cull- Give the little one a chance- sometimes the eye will grow to be normal size in the end.

Do you think he will be blind in the small eye? At my place blindness wouldnt be the best thing for him because of predators.

He may be..but mine wasnt. Give him a few days and when he is up running around you can try to test him to see how much vision he has in that eye.

I have had two ducks in the past that only had one eye -they adapted well. If he grows and has the protection and warning form the flock- he may be Ok.

Alright im gonna give him/her a chance... it is smaller then the rest but just as active as the rest so i think he will be ok. I bet this guy will be the tamest i know it!
