Do you think a one-eyed rooster would be safe to free-range?
He is also white. He just lost the eye about a month ago (long story, not letting neighbor girl bird-sit anymore

).

Since he's been this way for a month, he is probably as used to it as he is going to get. And I would imagine that being white is also a disadvantage for free ranging.

I free range some of mine, and have had lots of losses, and have others who are not free range. I still like the idea of their having their freedom, despite the losses.

Personal choice. Do what feels right to you.

I have a hamburg that is missing an eye. He has preety much been this way since he hatched. It came in infected, I thing a meaty ruptured it. It is hard to sneak up on him, he is always flipping his head to check about. White is more of an invite though.
