Oh yea, Cyn, I am now the proud owner of a naked neck. Oh boy, just what I always wanted! (Thats sarcasm, by the way).
Actually I cant believe how well the lone ranger is taking her by her lonesomeness. I guess since she never had other peeps with her, she doesnt know better. She is pecking at everything, I have her in your post office box you sent the eggs in.
What I was GOING to put them in, didnt seem appropriate! I have that non skid stuff in there and she is pecking on it, then peckin at the warm mash I have in there, then pecking at her toes, then peckin at the thermometer I put in there, then the fur on the stuffed cat, just everything. She is so cute to watch. I hate to tell you this, but instead of putting the heat lamp on, I put this little small wat disco lamp in, and it spins with the heat. Well, at first it made her a bit dizzy, but now she goes round and round it. She tried to go round it when I had it in the corner, but then she got almost caught and was spun around and didnt like that much. Crazy lil thing. So I put it in the middle of her lil box, and she circles it like its prey. lol
Oh my gosh, just as I am typing this...her first poop! She just did her first poop. And its a BIG one. And oh dang, its right on the thermometer, of all things.
Well, anyhow...thats why I was callin her the disco chick. It probably imitates the brooder light more closely than anythin else, so she seems to kind of like it.
Yea I am sure the heat was just too much, who knows if the postal guys had it cool the whole time, even tho they WERE fairly fast. I am sure they HAD to shake it, cuz like I said, no development and man, you packed them for being in a tornado and still being good. lol
Let me think on trying again, with my luck they would ALL hatch this time and getting on into winter...eeeks.
I LOVE fall, but winter I could do without.
