one hatched chick left by mama

Our broody hen just hatched 8 chicks today (this is the first time for us to do this). Something smelled bad under her and when we went to check we discovered a dead check and one still in it's shell but almost ready to come out. Unfortunately she stepped on that one, cracking it open and then left it to tend to the others. We rescued it and now have it inside under a heat lamp. It's almost dried, peeping, and moving around- although one leg seems to be a bit off. When should we put it in with her? Anything we should watch for with the leg?

Slip it under her after she settles down for the night. I wouldn't worry about the leg yet.

We figured out she has splayed leg and have her hobbled inside. We kept her in all night worried she wouldn't be ok out with mama and others. Should I put her outside with the hobble on or keep inside? I'm worried about keeping her in too long and mama not taking her.

another question i have is: she has a bad smell still on her and I'm wondering if mama wouldn't like that
