I bought 6 chicks in April of 2017. One hen doesn't lay and I don't know why. I don't know which one. They have a chicken run and a coop for night and nests for laying. Any ideas on identifying the one that doesn't lay? (Not that I'd "do away" with her anyway. All my chickens are more like pets.)

Just curious. Thanks.

You can examine her lady bits :) the vent should be moist and wide ,
Compare each hen and see if one looks different....

Also feel if the space under the vent is hard or warm an egg might be stuck

OK...I'm a chicken novice, so a really stupid question--where are the vents? Where the egg comes out, I assume. The non-laying has been going on forever, so if an egg is stuck, wouldn't that have eventually affected her health? All six seem healthy and happy.

And if one has a vent that isn't moist and wide, is that a danger for the hen? If the vent is different from the others, can I do anything about it? Thanks again!

What kind of hens? I have no idea. I live in Panama and I think they're called "ponadora." They are not "meat hens."
I concluded that one doesn't lay because I have 6 hens and I get 5 eggs per day. Wrong assumption?
