One Huge Eye

My current batch of eggs hatching in my incubator are coming along great. However, one of the chicks that hatched yesterday has a huge swollen eye. I have separated her from all of the other hatchlings, and even tried cleaning the eye with running water in case it was caused by something getting in it. This morning it is still the same. Has anyone encountered this or know what it is? Is it sign of disease or just a birth defect? Nothing infected looking about it, just seems to be a huge eye.

Ok, the eye has gotten even bigger. Any suggestions??

Can you post a picture? I had a chick that had something like what you describe. She's still sorta deformed, but lays well and acts fine. You can see my post history about it with some pictures of her as a chick. It wasn' t an infection- but some sort of deformity.
