Hi there,
I have 26 Isa Browns that are 12 weeks old today (July 9th) and they are all doing fantastic with the exception of one. She will constantly twist her head around backwards & tuck it underneath her (rear-end in the air). She will be ok for an hour or so if I throw a treat into the run & they're all eating but then she will do that weird "head thing" again. At night she will no longer go into the coop with the other girls but lay outside in that odd position periodically moving a few feet. I went into the run last night (because I thought she was dead), picked her up and put her into a pen in the garage with her own food & water. She didn't move except to look at me even when I laid her in the pen. This morning I really expected her to be dead, however she was up, eating & making those healthy chicken noises but still constantly twisting her head around & laying it on the ground underneath her. Her eyes are bright, her comb's bright red & I cannot see any defects on her body. She weighs about the same amount as the other girls & is of similar size as well. In case it matters, I just started getting eggs yesterday (just a couple small ones and not from the girl in question) I am in the Cariboo of BC Canada (3600 ft above sea level) & the temps right now are between 60-90 degrees F depending on the clouds. I have no idea what the heck is wrong with her and would greatly appreciate any input from my fellow BYC members...
Thanks for your help!
