One of my friends really thinks that this chicken is a rooster, but others beg to differ....

Outside holding him/her down .... that one doesn't like me too much

It's one of the few chickens who can't stand the sight of me :'(

can anyone prove or disprove my friend's theory?

He/she is a silent chicken, makes next to NO noise whatsoever

i'm still puzzled

and it's the biggest chicken in the flock... some say it may be some kind of "giant" chicken... like a jersey giant or something

Gosh, it's hard to tell from those pics... EE roo?

I agree. The tail is curved, the hackle feathers pointy, and the face/stance says roo. With that beard I am also thinking E.E. As for the silent, I have lots of those little buggers around the same age, and they aren't very vocal.

Looks like a rooster, but what I really want to see is if the hackle feathers (on the neck) and saddle feathers (in front of the tail) are narrow and pointed. None of the pictures show it really well, but judging by the stance, comb development, tail feathers and attitude - you've got yourself a rooster.

As for the size, Easter Eggers are just crossed chickens that carry the blue egg gene. So he could be part Jersey Giant, Orpington, or other large fowl, put he isn't pure. So if he is an E.E then that could explain his size.
