ok, they have been on sulmet for 2 days, have't lost one since yesterday morning.

i really want to put these guys outside in the juvi pen. this will not be their permanent home, but until they are bigger and their coops are made, this is where they will live.

with them still being treated, does that mean that the juvi pen will be contaminated forever if i put them out there??? or should i wait til the week of treatment is over?

My understanding is that cocci is like yeast. It is always around but causes a problem only when conditions are right and it overpowers the imune system.

I would try to keep the area they are in as dry as possible.

Good luck!

Yes, they juvi pen will remain contaminated without severe treatment, but the amount can be minimized. Once present, the cocci will always be around to a certain extent.

lol, florida, and it's raining. i'd say i'm doomed. lol.

how do you decontaminate an outside area for cocci???

i've looked on here, but i'm not seeing anything really helpful
