ONE last tail feather on Mama Dot! 😯🪶

Poor Dot. She sat for not three, but four, weeks at the very hottest time of year, hatched three babies, got repeatedly bullied by her flock mates before and after hatch, and immediately after hatch went right into molt. Her adorable crest is in total disarray, her comb is shrunken, her sparse feathers are rough and tattered, and she has ONE, count it, ONE, remaining feather in her once-proud Opal Legbar tail.

Indeed. Everyone is on extra protein right now! Almost my entire flock is either still growing, or molting.

ETA: She also lost that last tail feather today. No tail at all. It looks so odd!
