I made the choice to let Bob, my BJG, go. Not only did I have to (no roosters allowed) but I honestly didn't want to deal with the noise and the mating he would do with my 11 hens. I had/have ordered a rooster collar - it hasn't arrived yet but as I thought about something @aart said on a post last week - a good chicken keeper knows when a chicken doesn't fit their flock, I knew he was right. I wanted to "save" Bob but it was best to let him go. He's at a neighbor's farm where he can crow as loud as he wants and will have a ton of girlfriends when he's old enough to "date"
Stilo worried I'll be down another in a month or so. I feel like my Brahma is a boy, too. My neighbor doesn't need any more roosters ...
