Hello! Just got my first chicks ever on Friday <3. All is well so far! They were a noisy bunch when they first arrived but after warming up and filling up, they all make the sweetest, quiet tweets/chirps. At night they sleep like angels!

Except one. lol

I have one Salmon Faverolle Bantam that is happy as a clam when I'm on the floor by the brooder, talking, lowering my hand with food etc...and because of where they are in the house, I am able to talk to them all day.

When I leave the area for a few minutes, or I stop talking/making noise, this little puffball chirps soooo loud!! Like...alarm loud!! I can talk and it settles down, or, sit down by the brooder and it settles down. It is fairly chill about being scooped up and I'll hold it and stroke its head..usually it falls asleep.

My question: Is this normal?? lol. They were shipped to me (took 2 days after hatch) so I feel like they were past the magical "imprint" stage. Part of me wants to think it is endearing but, because I'm such a novice I don't want to miss signs/signals it is giving me that something is wrong! (it does eat/drink well and is a master at pooping, lol)

Normal? Odd? Potential alarmist roo? The chick in question is now my avatar here. (And, adding a pic of my shih tzu Hope watching over her new flock of babies. :) )
