Well after the debacle of our Meyer Hatchery delivery and 10 of the 15 chicks being DOA we’ve ended up with just one survivor. We have 8 older chicks, 4 around 10 or 11 weeks old and 4 around 8 weeks old. Do you think it would be ok to put the new chick in with the older chicks? They are outside in their run almost all day. They come in occasionally to eat or drink. I really don’t think they would bother it since it’ll spend most of its time under the brooding heater. I just hate for it to be all by itself. Since they are all bantams I can’t just go out and buy another chick to keep it company. No one in our area has bantams right now.
Meyer’s will be replacing 12 chicks but not until August 10th. If it was sooner I’d just leave the chick in the brooder until the new chicks came.

Well after calling all the TSC’s within a 1.5 hr car ride I found one with bantams. We now have 12 more joining our lone little one. I know we got several silkies but the others are a mystery. I’ll have to wait until they feather out some to figure out what we’ve got.
