Hi everyone! I have 4 welsh harlequin ducklings and 3 of them are pretty outgoing, friendly, and are always eating and drinking. One of them seems terrified of me and chirps the entire time I'm in the room, she's smaller than the rest of them and I haven't seen her eat very much, but I'm not sure if she's just protesting while I'm in the room. She will just chirp herself to sleep, standing up. She was interested in swimming and jumped in the Tupperware "pool" without hesitation.

Should I be concerned? They're only about a week and a half old.

Is the brooder warm and dry enough for them?

After searching through some other threads, I mixed some duck food with water and now she's eating voraciously..so maybe she was just hungry :(

The brooder is right at 87 degrees and they seem to be comfortable temperature wise.

These gals are from Metzer Farms.

Yes...I always mix my feed with water to a soup. Too be honest I have Juvenile Ducks that get soup every evening..

:celebrateGlad she is eating now!

I'm going to do that from now on. They seem to like to drill into it too :)
Keep an eye on it because some feeds can go rancid very quickly. Once it goes rancid mine won't eat it. That reminds me, time to go make a new batch.
