Hello everyone. My neighbor recently built a pole barn and had a bunch of leftover steel that he threw into our scrap metal pile! We have someone that comes and collects it every so often. I was surprised when I saw whole uncut sheets, roughly 3 x 6 feet, and some that size with only small sections cut out. There were also tons of smaller pieces, 2 x 4 ft, 2 x 2 ft, and a bunch in between. I put it in a neat pile to use for future coop projects. It doesn't look like much in the picture, but it's enough to make as many chicken tractors as my heart desires! I can't believe that he would consider it trash, but I immediately thought of the saying, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." So that got me thinking: does anyone else here have any treasures you found from what another considered trash?

We adopted a cat that was someone's "trash." She patrols our yard and coop area for mice. We have her on camera chasing off a skunk without getting sprayed.
Chasing off that skunk must've taken some skill!
We have had many barn cats, many of whom I think people drop off. They keep our barns close to mice/rat free. Very rarely do I ever see one. But in turn we feed them and give them a nice place to stay. Good barn cats are treasures!
